About the Letterpress Process

Around 1440, the way information was exchanged was revolutionized with Johannes Gutenberg's invention of movable type printing. While the machine itself has changed drastically over time, the concept is still the same. Reusable cut letters are inked and pressed into paper, leaving a mark of varying depth and a textural quality that is impossible to achieve with modern techniques.
