My Two Worlds

by John Reburn

My letterpress career IS the union of old and new. I straddle the line between unplugged and plugged. I wrestle with my collection of antique, letterpress equipment and keeping current with my MAC/Apple/Design technology.

This idea came to me almost a decade ago when I was obsessed with collecting antique dogs and other vintage pottery. I thought, "how cool would it be to match stationery to vintage pieces? An ultimate, one-of-a-kind gift!" Well, it was quick to NOT sell. I couldn't get it to fly. Well, what a difference a decade makes. This lil' idea has become one of the hottest gift ideas in my shop. New moms, Mother's/Father's Day, Graduation, and personal stationery for folks who understand the importance of putting pen to paper...all appreciate how unique and thoughtful this stationery can be. The vintage pottery is the cherry on top.

So, to the folks who give it, get it...love it...and still write, thank you for bridging the gap and appreciating both of my worlds!
